Dhruv Chem Industries, Mr. Gautam Vaghasiya tells us that Diphoterine has proved to be a good first-aid measure against chemical splash

M/s. Dhruv Chem Industries Plot no. 202 to 204, Phase-1, Chhatral, Tal: Kalol. We handle ethylene di Bromide, Caustic, HCL and Mix solvents in our manufacturing process. We had purchased Diphoterine first-aid solution (for eye & skin burns) from HSE Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai (Subsidiary of PREVOR, France) regularly. We have kept the solutions in various risk locations in the plant area and employees are trained in using the same in case of chemical burns emergency.

Case of Ethylene Di Bromide Splash:
While Taking sample of ethylene di Bromide from tanker due to inline pressure of ethylene di Bromide carrying by tanker, it splashed on the operator who was taking sample. Splashed ethylene di Bromide came directly on his face and both hands area. Diphoterine first aid solution was used immediately by our production supervisor and the affected area was washed thoroughly with the solutions. Later up he was sent to hospital. On checking his affected area, the doctor commented that his face and hand were saved. His face and both hands were becoming normal after a day’s rest.

Caustic Splash:
While Charging Caustic in reactor one employee get splash of caustic in his eyes. He immediately used LIS eyewash. Later he was taken to hospital. On checking his eyes, Ophthalmologist commented that his eyes were saved by used of Diphoterine. His eyes became normal after a day’s rest and he was at work from next day.

We feel that Diphoterine has proved to be a good first-aid measure in many instances, and we strongly recommend its use. We are also happy that the supply is very prompt and representatives from HSE Solutions Pvt. Ltd. conduct regular awareness training for the employees.
